There Was Something About Costa Rica

costa rica May 18, 2026

The waterfalls.

The jungle air.

The rivers winding through the trees.

Fresh fruit in the morning.Long conversations at night. Laughing until our stomachs hurt. Watching monkeys swing through the trees while the ocean breeze moved through the palms.

There was something about Costa Rica that felt different from anywhere I’ve ever experienced.

Not just beautiful.

Alive.

I recently traveled there with my daughter, and somewhere between swimming beneath waterfalls, floating through jungle rivers, visiting animal sanctuaries, hiking through breathtaking landscapes, and sharing healthy meals together…

something inside both of us softened.

Life slowed down.

We became more present.More connected. More grateful.More joyful.

And honestly…

I didn’t realize how much I needed that.

One of the things you hear constantly in Costa Rica is the phrase:

Pura Vida.

At first it sounds like a simple saying.

But after spending time there, I realized it is much more than that.

It is a way of l...

The Soul of a Nation: Resilience, Recovery, and the Pura Vida Miracle

costa rica Apr 21, 2026

I have just returned from a place where the air feels like a physical embrace. Standing on the edge of a cloud forest with my daughter, watching the mist dance between ancient ferns, I realized that some places on Earth don't just host life—they celebrate it.

This was no ordinary vacation. It was a pilgrimage. My daughter and I were celebrating a milestone that, three years ago, felt like a distant, flickering hope.

We have both navigated the dark tunnels of life-threatening health challenges recently. We fought through the fear, the treatments, and the exhaustion, emerging on the other side with a fierce, renewed gratitude for the simple act of breathing.

As we look toward the horizon of new decades—

her approaching 60 and me approaching 80—we knew we needed a setting that matched the magnitude of our gratitude.

We needed a place that understood resilience. We found it in Costa Rica. This was our first solo trip together since my grandchildren (now 27, 24, and 22!) were born. A...

When Life Invites You to Begin Again

There was a time when I wondered if my most vibrant years were behind me.

After a divorce, the loss of the business I had built with so much heart and effort, unexpected weight gain, and a series of health challenges, I found myself standing at a crossroads that many women eventually reach in midlife.

From the outside, everything might have looked fine.

But inside, I knew something had shifted.

The life I had been living no longer felt fully aligned with the woman I still believed I could become.

Like many women navigating life after 50, I faced a quiet but powerful question:

Is this the beginning of decline… or the beginning of reinvention?

I chose reinvention.

That decision began a journey of exploration—learning how to care for my health in deeper way...

Get Up, Get Dressed, Get Out — Living Fully in Life’s Fourth Quarter

get up Feb 06, 2026

Dear Wise Friend,

Let's welcome our newest Wise Women who have joined us from the Build your Successful Online Business who found us on our Limitless Giving Gifts Page.

There comes a beautiful season in life that I like to call the Fourth Quarter — not as an ending, but as a refinement. It is the stage where we know ourselves better, value our time more deeply, and begin to ask not “What should I do?” but rather “How fully can I live?”

Over the years, I’ve come to organize my own wellness philosophy around three simple yet powerful pillars:

  • Get Up.
  • Get Dressed.
  • Get Out.

These are not just actions — they are attitudes of living. They are daily invitations to awaken energy, express self-love, and engage with the world in meaningful ways.

Small habits are the quiet architects of big change. When we think about transformation, we often imagine dramatic overhauls — new routines, strict plans, or massive bursts of motivation. Yet lasting energy and vitality rarely come from sudde...

Your New Years Reset

Your New Year Check-In: Reset Your Energy, Mindset, and Momentum with 3 Simple Zesty Steps

We’re a few weeks into the New Year now — far enough that the fireworks have faded, routines have returned, and real life has reclaimed center stage.

This is the moment most resolutions quietly loosen their grip.

Not because you failed.
Not because you lack discipline.

But because change built on pressure rarely survives contact with reality.

So instead of asking, “Am I still on track?” — let’s ask a better question:

What small reset would help me most right now?

A meaningful life shift rarely comes from dramatic January promises. It comes from small, repeatable daily actions that restore energy, strengthen mindset, and create forward motion.

That’s the foundation of the Zesty Change framework — three simple pillars that support sustainable personal renewal:

  • Get Up — Energy

  • Get Dressed — Mindset

  • Get Out — Movement & Connection

Today is your gentle New Year check-in — a...

🍂 Don't 'Fall Back' on Your Wellness This Season! 🌟Find the 3 Secrets

Uncategorized Nov 04, 2025

The air is crisp, the days are shorter, and the aroma of pumpkin spice is everywhere. Yes, Daylight Saving Time has ended, the clocks have "fallen back," and we're officially settling into the colder, darker months. For many, this seasonal shift, coupled with the approaching holiday season, can feel like an invitation to slow down a little too much—to retreat, indulge, and maybe let those healthy habits slip until the New Year.

It's tempting to think of this time as a wellness 'off-season,' a period of hibernation where comfort food and cozy blankets take precedence over exercise and healthy routines. We hear it all the time: "I'll start fresh in January." But what if I told you that letting your guard down now is actually setting yourself up for a much harder battle later?

The Hidden Trap of Seasonal Slippage

The transition to fewer hours of daylight and the relentless wave of holiday obligations—parties, travel, gifts, and rich foods—creates a perfect storm for wellness derailment...

The Ultimate Release: Finding Freedom in Letting Go

Uncategorized Sep 03, 2025

It was a cold, hard choice, one I made on a grey autumn day with my heart in my throat. I watched my daughter's tiny body wrapped snugly in a blanket, a perfect, new life I was about to give away.

Painful Good  Byes

In that moment, the finality of my decision settled over me, a last act in a long line of goodbyes. My ranch, my horses, my marriage—all of them had become ghosts. But as I drove away from the hospital, it wasn’t just the miles between us that grew. It was the distance between who I was and who I was about to become.

Holding On to Grudges

For years, I believed resilience was about holding on. It was about gripping the reins, fighting the current, and proving I could withstand the storm. I fought my ex-husband for nine long, bitter years, a brutal, endless divorce that drained my savings and my spirit. In the end, I lost the ranch—the home I had built—as part of the settlement. I fought to keep my horses, my loyal, equine family, until I had to admit defeat and find them...

Lesson # 7 in Building Resilience Dancing with Uncertainty: The Courage of 'I Don't Know

building resilience Aug 28, 2025

Remember those days when a good old-fashioned roadmap was all you needed? A crisp, folded paper promising a clear destination, a few well-marked turns, and the reassuring knowledge of precisely when you’d arrive.

Our lives, it seems, have few such guarantees. We are wired to crave certainty—a definitive diagnosis from a doctor, a stable number in our bank account, a roadmap for the future that has no unexpected detours or sudden detours.

We yearn to know how it all turns out, to control the narrative, to predict the next chapter before we’ve even finished the current sentence.

For me, one of those profoundly defining moments came with the loss of my boarding facility. It wasn’t merely a business; it was a dream I had meticulously built with my own hands, fueled by passion and years of dedication.

It was a place teeming with life, where every hoofbeat and whinny was a testament to hard work and connection. The signs of economic shift, the whispers of changing tides, were there if I...
